"A Book For Midwives"  is available for free download in PDF format from Hesperian Foundation, the publishers of the  "Where There is No Doctor" series of books.  This is an excellent resource for midwives, student midwives, apprentices and home birth families.  You can read and download the book at the above link and also check out the other great books and resources Hesperian Foundation has available.

The Wednesday morning Midwifery Study Group will be pushing it's start date back from September 22 to October 6th, due to an important training session on Newborn Hearing Screening which is taking place on 9/22/2010.

If you are in an advanced stage of your studies in midwifery, we recommend attending the Newborn Hearing Screening class too; however if you are just beginning your journey in midwifery it is not needed yet and would present an extra burden on the facilitators to have too many students at the class.

Again, if you are in an advanced stage of midwifery training(in an active apprenticeship) and wish to be trained on the use of newborn hearing screening machines, contact me by email for the sign-up information. svandenput@countrymidwife.com
